Hello Gareth. I found you because of a note you dropped saying you'd updated this page.

I know Lucy and her ankles by the way.

I'm Seraphina. I started my podcast Seraphina Speaks when I was 7. I won an award for it and am now 11. It's social commentary on things we take for granted. I work on the podcast as part of my home education and my mum Danusia is exec producer.

Nice to meet you!

Hi Gareth!

I'm Hannah, based in SW London near Wimbledon. I was a school music teacher for 16 years and last year retrained as an interior designer. I've now set up my own design business (though continue to teach a little bit). I started a podcast in October last year called 'Inspiring Creative Career Change' which features women who have made a big career shift often a little later in life. Making the career shift has allowed me to rediscover my creativity. It had got rather lost along the way when I was teaching and looking back now, I think I was suffering from burnout.

Pleased to have found your page and looking forward to reading more about your journey too!

My podcast is here in case you're interested! https://chezhanny.substack.com/podcast

Hi Hannah! Sorry for the delay in replying. Had a listen to your podcast yesterday, a really nice listen. I was also a teacher (up until 2011), and totally relate to the burnout thing. I hope everything is going well for you.

Thanks so much for listening! I've been figuring a lot of it out as I go along and I think have got better at producing the podcast as it's evolved but I still have a lot to learn!

Making the shift away from teaching full time has been the best decision ever. I've realised that I need to have lots of different creative outlets and this shift has afforded me the time to explore those things in a way that definitely felt missing before. Equally by shifting to a part-time teaching role I can now focus on being in the classroom because I don't have all the other responsibilities of being head of a department.

Do you miss teaching?
